Mangosteen Juice Effect Upon Epilepsy, Testimonials # 1 – 2

Epilepsy testimonial # 1

Kathie says her infant grandson’s Epilepsy seizures have stopped since he was put on mangosteen juice.

I’m so excited I just had to tell you the good news about our 11 month old grandson and all his problems.

Will, my husband, finally convinced our daughter into giving David mangosteen juice. His seizures pretty much stopped right away, has only had a few small ones I think because he’s teething.

In 2 weeks he has [gone from] not being able to even sit up to standing and trying to walk.

Before starting on mangosteen juice, his left arm & leg were pretty much paralysed because of the seizures and birth damage. Now he’s starting to use them both and I think, in time, he will have full use of them.

It’s only occasionally that we can find a quality movie that dramatizes a health concern but Meryl Streep’s First Do No Harm looks like it fits the bill. Since this isn’t a movie review site I won’t discuss its merits but will instead stick to the idea behind it, which:

  1. is that some anti-Epileptic drugs may actually be causing Epileptic fits &
  2. that The Ketogenic Diet: A Treatment for Children and Others with Epilepsy may be able to stop Epileptic fits.

First Do No Harm

“Although one could dismiss this film as an extended commercial for the ketogenic diet, one also can’t help but admit to the power the film contains. Buoyed by the incredible performance of Meryl Streep, FIRST DO NO HARM looks at our medical system and how it sometimes disregards the needs and desires of the patients and their families.”

“My 3 & 1/2 year old daughter has intractable epilepsy that has been unresponsive to drug treatment and has experienced VERY undesirable side effects from anti-epileptic drugs [AEDS].

Hayven has been on the Ketogenic diet for 4 months now. Although she is not seizure free, we have noticed about a 65% decrease in her overall seizure activity. She used to have 12 – 25 ‘drop’ [catonic] seizures a day with almost constant pulsing, bucking, rythmic activity’ [myoclonus]. Since the diet she is down to 1 – 2 ‘drops’ and almost no myoclonic activity.

This movie paints a very realistic picture of the lives effected by this disorder…I have had to literally SCREAM at the doctors and advocate for my child’s best interests.”

Amazon reviewer Tracy Zielinski

“When I first heard this movie was going to air, I purposely skipped watching it – it was too close to home. Our little girl was battling epileptic seizures and side-effects from drugs that didn’t work, but I had been told by her doctors that the Ketogenic Diet would not work for her.

A couple of years went by and we happily found ourselves in the hands of a new (to us) and wonderful pediatric neurologist in Portland, Oregon…[who] actually recommended the diet for her right away…She started the diet in October of 2000 at age 4 and one year later, is now seizure free, off all medications and thriving…

…There is a scene where the little boy is continuously [having seizures] while all the ER staff is surrounding him, working frantically to save him, and the mom is standing helplessly by, watching in horror – it was almost like they had filmed OUR lives because we had been through an event just like that. I will spare you the details except to say that scene was not overly exaggerated, it really does happen. Our daughter, just like the little boy in the film, has had dangerous, life-threatening status seizures that were CAUSED by the anti-epileptic drugs that she was given to supposedly prevent seizures.

I know medications can work well for some but for those who aren’t so lucky, this diet is a complete miracle. It has not been easy, it takes dedication but nothing is hard after what we had been through.

Epilepsy testimonial # 2

Rachel has had Epilepsy all her life but claims fantastic results since going on mangosteen juice.

I am 24 years old. I have had Epilepsy since I was an infant and was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) at four years old.

I have had:

  • simple partial
  • generalized tonic-clonic
  • absence
  • atonic (drop) and
  • complex partial seizures

throughout the years.

I was put on medications to control the seizures, which worked for a short period of time. All of a sudden my medications weren’t helping me. My neurologists over the years have tried a number of different anti-convulsant and anti-depressant medications at different levels, but no medication controlled my seizure activity or my anxiety consistently.

I have experienced many side effects from the medications such as:

  • dehydration
  • dizziness
  • physical weakness
  • long-term and short-term memory loss
  • speech problems
  • allergies
  • slowness in reading and learning in school
  • some loss of clear vision
  • depression &
  • stress

I was also not a good candidate for any type of Epilepsy surgery because it was possible that I may lose some memory and at least part of my vision.

I knew that something had to be out there that could help me reduce these side effects that triggered ongoing seizures. I had nothing left to lose. So I tried the mangosteen fruit juice for 90 days. I didn’t notice anything at first [but] after a few weeks:

  • I started to feel physically better
  • my long-term and short-term memory started to improve
  • my vision is now better
  • my anxiety level diminished
  • I deal better with allergies and dehydration and
  • my seizure frequency has been reduced significantly

Now I feel healthier and happier than I ever have before. I’m a firm believer in the health benefits the mangosteen juice has to offer, and I will continue to drink the juice on a daily basis. I am especially excited to share the mangosteen fruit juice with everyone I know.
